When Mother Mary visited Elizabeth, she brought Jesus with her.

Now when I heard that, similar to Mother Mary, since the time I was baptised, the Holy Spirit dwells in me, and hence, I have been, all along, bringing the Holy Spirit to visit others too. Mind blown.

I had to step back for this to sink in. The ‘hannor abuden’ obvious moments were aplenty.

So when I visit someone in the hospital, I am bringing the Holy Spirit with me. Isn’t that the greatest gift? Now I wish I had called upon the Holy Spirit a lot more then, maybe I could have brought a leap of joy to others.

And if we believe that the Holy Spirit dwells in us, then if we scold or curse another, we should be wary that we are also scolding and cursing the Holy Spirit! Father Terence’s teaching is sinking in.

Recognising or acknowledging the Holy Spirit in others is also not easy. Elizabeth could feel it immediately as did John.

I was having dinner by myself at the food court when I noticed an elderly couple beside me making the sign of the cross before having their meal. Should I say something? It took a few minutes but I got up the courage to greet them and acknowledge that they are Catholics, just like me! When I finished my meal, we had our parting shots of Peace be with you and God bless!

I thank the Holy Spirit for prompting me then to acknowledge my brother and sister. Alas, I sidestepped the opportunity to greet Father Andre at the same food court last week. Haiya!

Come Holy Spirit, I need you!
