Theme – Jesus our Risen Lord

The Liturgical colour theme is white in Ordinary Time.  Our flower arrangements this week are composed of the colours white, pastel pink, blue, yellow, and green.

The scriptural text relevant to the flower arrangement is John 20:16-18

“Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned and said to him in Hebrew, “Rabbouni,” which means Teacher. Jesus said to her, “Stop holding on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am going to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” Mary of Magdala went and announced to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord,” and what He told her.”

Today the Resurrection of Christ is clearly known to us, our knowledge of this glorious event must continually deepen. It an event that transcends time, permeates all time, and transforms every moment of our lives.

Jesus rose from the dead opening the gate of Heaven to all who believe and receive the gift of salvation. As we celebrate the Resurrection, pray that our love, with all its emotions, may be more fully purified by grace, so that we, too, will encounter Christ with renewed understanding and joy. We must always allow God our Father to open our hearts to a new way so that we can depart our own “empty tombs” and embrace the love we thought we had lost.
