Encounter

Month of Rosary
Fridays
9, 16, 23 & 30 Oct
@ 7pm

This is what the Popes have to say about the Rosary:

  1. Christians receive immense benefits every day through the Rosary. (Urban IV)
  2. With the Rosary, we drive the devil far away from us. (Adrian VI)
  3. The Rosary has been given to us specifically to serve as protection against the great dangers and evils that threaten the world. (Leo X)
  4. The Rosary is, of all prayers, the most beautiful, the richest in graces, and the one that most pleases the Blessed Virgin. (St. Pius X)
  5. If you pray the Rosary all united, you will enjoy peace in your families and have harmony in your homes. (Pius XII)
  6. The Rosary is a very excellent form of meditated prayer, composed in the manner of a mystical crown. (St. John XXIII)
  7. The recitation of the Rosary requires a calm rhythm and a reflective pause that favor in the one who prays the meditation of the mysteries of the Lord’s life, seen through the Heart of the One who was closest to the Lord. (St. Paul VI)
  8. The mysteries of the rosary, meditated and savored, are the Bible deepened, made into spiritual juice and blood. (St. John Paul I)
  9. The Rosary is my favorite prayer. Wonderful prayer! Wonderful in its simplicity and in its depth . (St. John Paul II)
  10. The rosary is a spiritual weapon in the fight against evil, against all violence, for peace in hearts, in families, in society, and in the world. (Benedict XVI)
  11. By praying the Rosary every day, we will thus bring men closer to Heaven. (Francis)

Come join us as we meditate on the life of Jesus.

Young Missionaries of Hope: One in Christ, United in Mission (Virtual Zoom Event)
What does it mean to be a young missionary? Do we have to travel to distant lands to be one?

As the Church celebrates 100 years of World Mission Sunday, join us as we reflect on how we can be young missionary disciples in our own context.

Following a keynote speech by Cardinal “Ambo”, Vice-President of The Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences, we will be accompanied by Catholics from Myanmar, Cambodia, the Philippines and Malaysia. Human Dignity and Development in the Era of AI by Fr David Garcia, OP

The rise of sophisticated AI technologies is changing the world rapidly in ways no one has foreseen, and they continue to evolve at breakneck speeds. Just as Pope Leo XIII took on the consequences of the Industrial Revolution and started modern Catholic Social Teaching tradition, Pope Leo XIV aims to do the same for today’s digital revolution. His first encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas, is an invitation to the entire Church and all peoples, for we are all sisters and brothers, to safeguard human dignity in these turbulent times.

Come and join us at Catholic Centre to hear Fr David’s lecture on discerning the impact of AI in light of the encyclical and consider together what all this means for us. While a short evening session might not answer all our questions, we will begin to read the changing times with eyes of faith.
