Theme – The Eternal Perfection of All Whom Christ is Sanctifying
In today’s Gospel reading on “The Coming of the Son of Man”, Jesus’ prophecy that “the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will be falling from the sky, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.” – Mark 13:24-25. These are words spoken not only to the Church as a whole, but also to us. Jesus wants us to be aware and understand that the suffering and tribulation we endure, every persecution or any way we feel “shaken” are opportunities for us to turn to God in trust and hope. Always invite God into these experiences and be aware that they are signs of His closeness to help purify us and prepare us for the glorious day of His return.
The Liturgical colour theme is green in Ordinary Time with green, white, and yellow.
Green symbolizes spiritual growth in Christ, nurtured by the Church and the Gospel. Green represents new life, anticipation, new beginning, praise, flourishing healing, restoration, and hope. White symbolizes pure faith that listens to God’s voice and believes. Yellow symbolizes light which in turn is a symbol of the presence of God. It is also symbolic of renewal and hope, especially in the resurrection of Jesus.
