Theme – The Lord who does all things well
In today’s Gospel reading on “The Healing of a Deaf Man” where Jesus uses His finger and His saliva to heal the deaf man. Jesus chose to use His body as an instrument of His healing power. Revealing to us that Jesus’ humanity became the source of unity between God and man.
For by Baptism, we are member of Christ’s Body, the Church where we are His hands and feet, His eyes and voice, His heart and finger, and even His saliva. When we can humbly understand this, then we will be able to become an instrument of His divine mercy to those who need it. God can use us NOT because we are worthy of being used. Rather, He can use us because He has chosen to do so, in our most humble state.
God can use us, no matter how unworthy or sinful we may be. This act shows us that God can use all things for His glory because He is God. We need to humble and offer ourselves to God to use us as He wills. By doing so will give God opportunity to manifest His almighty power through us.
The Liturgical colour theme is green in Ordinary Time with green, white, and red.
Green symbolizes spiritual growth in Christ, nurtured by the Church and the Gospel. Green represents new life, anticipation, new beginning, praise, flourishing healing, restoration, and hope. White symbolizes pure faith that listens to God’s voice and believes. Red symbolizes the presence of God, the Church.
