As we celebrate The Epiphany of the Lord, have we wondered what the word, “Epiphany” means? “Epiphany” means “manifestation’. We honour this moment in time when the Christ Child was made manifest to the world, and we mark the change in the liturgical calendar as the solemnity of Epiphany also marks the end of the Christmas season in the Roman Catholic Church.

Epiphany is an invitation for us to look into our own hearts to discover Christ’s ongoing manifestation to us.  This is so that we can worship Him Who has also chosen to be born within our hearts. We need to diligently seek out that manifestation of God within us and respond to it in the same ways that the Magi responded.

Today God wants to manifest Himself to us. When this happens, we must respond with faith and worship, giving God glory by giving Him our very life and offering Him our spiritual gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Always pray asking our Father to give us the love and zeal we need to follow the example of the Magi, offering our own gifts in adoration and trust.

The Liturgical colour theme is white to celebrate the Solemnity, and we have chosen to celebrate the Solemnity with flowers of white, a blush of red and blue, and green.
