The Gospel reading of John 6:24-35 recounts the crowd followed Jesus to Capernaum seeking more signs of miracles. There, Jesus challenged them to seek the “bread of life,” the spiritual sustenance He offers for eternal life, and not physical bread.

Very often, we tend to focus on physical and material needs and neglect our spiritual well-being to seek deeper fulfillment in Jesus’ promises. We should seek what truly satisfies and not something temporal. Just as bread sustains physical life, Jesus sustains and nourishes our spiritual lives.

Sometimes, we become doubtful and ask for signs of God’s work to believe, especially when things go awry. Do remain faithful in God’s work as He knows all our needs and offers us His daily bread of life in difficult circumstances.

In summary, John 6:24-35 invites us to remain faithful, grateful and shift our focus from temporary, worldly concerns to the lasting, life-giving presence of Jesus.
