In the Gospel, Jesus asked His disciples “Why are you so frightened? How is it that you have no faith?” Many a time, when we meet with trials and tribulations, we often query if our Father is “asleep” or if He does not care about us. The fact that we have this doubt is perhaps due to our faith in Him being not strong enough to understand our Father who is merciful and loving. He will not leave us helpless.

Nothing is impossible with our Lord, the Gospel showed that He can calm the storm. We must have the faith that He will be there to calm ours as well. We should not be like the disciples who said “Master, do you not care? We are going down!” after having known the faith of the Church that has lasted all these years.

Our Lord will not let us drown. It is His will that we are kept afloat when faced with difficulty.

A stronger faith deepened through prayers and a knowing through learning, will enable us to know in our hearts that He is always walking with us in this life journey.
