Those of us who come to Church on Sundays definitely have faith. There are many aspects to faith. Faith is a gift from God our Father. We cannot know our Father if he had not first revealed himself to us. This revelation about our Father is dynamic. Before Jesus came, they called him God but Jesus revealed God as our Father. As the revelation was made progressively, we too must discover our faith progressively.

Generally as a start believers move on with the faith that had been given by their parents. Some remain at this starting point. Faith is a gift. If we take faith as a raw diamond that is given then it should be polished so that the true brilliance of the diamond can be discovered. Faith needs to be polished and it is done when steps are taken to go beyond that which has been given. If our parents taught us to go for Sunday Eucharist as an obligation, we need to go beyond the obligation to discover a relationship with Jesus in the Eucharist. If our parents taught us to recite the rosary, we need to go beyond to pray the rosary and become familiar with the mysteries. If we have never read the bible, we are still at the raw stage of our diamond.

If we have never read attempted spiritual reading, we miss the treasures that others have found and are sharing with us.

Our parents have given us the faith just like they have enabled us to have an education but what we

do with it will have a greater impact on our lives. Whether we grow or we stagnate in the faith depends on our willingness to respond the invitations of God our Father.

Our Lord is waiting for us to go beyond the veil to be with him at a deeper level of knowing him and being with him. Only you can do this. Faith needs to grow.
