As we are nearing the season of Advent, The Level 2 of catechism class was tasked to do Advent candles made of colored papers and toilet rolls with the virtues of Advent. Hope, Love, Joy and Peace
The candles are part of the Advent wreath, and symbolize the passage through the 4 weeks of Advent. Each candle represents one of the four Advent virtues.
Hope.
Hope is to look forward with faith and trust in our God completely. It is to know that we are never alone as God is watching out for us in every step we take and we are preparing for his coming.
Love.
Love is to care deeply for the people and things around us because of how much they mean to us; it is only through love that we can fully be present and able to serve and forgive others,
Joy.
Regardless of our situation now whether we are stricken with illness or loss of income due to job loss, the joy is simply knowing that God loves us.
Peace.
Peace is being honest and comfortable with ourselves with the full knowledge that God is guiding us.
Do use this holiday to prepare your own Advent candles with your children and below is a step by step guide
