Do we judge others because they do not wear Chanel or drive a Benz and that they dress different from us? If so, this implies that we view ourselves more superior than others.

The gift of kindness to others supersedes all the material things in the world. We all belong to the Body of Christ, we must stick together and watch out for each other.

In Church, most of us are tasked with different things to do and it is an honour to serve in ministries. We serve because it is our gift back to to God for the gifts He has blessed us with. Some of us are in the Wardens Ministry because we are good in service to others. Some of us have such beautiful voices and are in the Choir. Some are so gifted in teaching and are our Catechists. Some of us are inspired to pen God’s words and evangelize in the different platforms, we are a part of the Comms Ministry. We are one body with many members, and all the members do not have the same function. We all see ourselves deeply attached to Christ and together we form a single vital body.

We remain united to the Pope and Priests who are instruments of unity. It also means overcoming division with each other that arises from  ministry work and to understand each other better, to better love Jesus and the people around us, family and in the Parish. To live the true way of Christ, the body and limbs must be united and work as one. Unity is a grace we must ask from the Lord, ask him to free us from the temptations of divisions amongst ourselves, struggles we  face, selfishness and gossip.

In Christ we died to that old life of selfishness. Through our resurrection with Christ we have become, not only a new creature in Christ, but a member of the Body of Christ.

Just as a human body, though it is made up of many parts, is a single unit because all these parts, though many, make one body, so it is with Christ. In the one Spirit we were all baptised, Jews as well as Greeks, slaves as well as citizens, and one Spirit was given to us all to drink

(1 Corinthians 12:12-13). Our physical body composed of many members: hands, feet, arms, legs, ears, eyes, etc. The presence of every member that enables the body to function correctly.

God has arranged the body and that there may not be disagreements inside the body, but that each part may be equally concerned for all the others. If one part is hurt, all parts are hurt with it. If one part is given special honour, all parts enjoy it. (1 Corinthians 12:24-26)

There is one Body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. (Ephesians 4:4-6) The doctrine of unity and this verse presents  the teaching of unity of God’s people.
